The celebration of this year’s National & Global Youth Service Day 2008 is now history. In Kingston NY, the original capital of New York State, this year’s event took place at the shores of the Hudson River on April 26. The theme ‘Bringing the Youth of Our Community together’ was fulfilled as120 local youth came together to serve the community, enjoy food donated by local businesses and celebrate with music.
Sharing The Blessing, the main sponsor of this celebration and a project of the International Relief Friendship Foundation (IRFF) wanted to echo the spirit of the Global Peace Festival being celebrated all around the world.
2007 National & Global Youth Service Day
“Creating Bridges Among the Youth of our Community” -2007 National & Global Youth Service Day in Kingston, New York- On April 21, 2007, the Sharing the Blessing ministry organized the 3rd annual National & Global Youth Service Day project in Kingston, New York. ‘Sharing the Blessing’ emerges from the belief that every human being has a unique gift enshrined in his individuality like a rough diamond stone. That gift is of greatest value one carries. It is a blessing not to keep for oneself but to share with others. Knowing that we have such precious gift within, no matter who we are, where we live, of what’ s our present situation, knowing that such gift is to be shared in order to give joy to oneself and to others, that’s the door towards a world of one big family.
